Google’s mobile-friendly-madness!

We have talked a lot about being mobile-friendly lately. Smartphones are very rampant these days, and everyone is using them to search for things in Google. Google has recognized this trend and it has changed its mobile search results page as a result of this. There are now more Google searches on mobile devices than on desktop computers. According to one post, It’s Official: Google Says More Searches Now On Mobile Than On Desktop, it is quoted that “[...] more Google searches take place on mobile devices than on computers in 10 countries including the US and Japan. [...]”. This is groundbreaking and it shows the changing habits that users have.

What changes have been noticed for mobile users in the past few months?

Apart from the mobile-friendly update on April 21st, 2015, Google has updated the search results to factor loading time and has also added some colorful dividing lines in the search results. There were also colorful dots noticed for users in different countries. There have been reports that your search results can now be altered based on other apps that you have on your phone as well.

Conclusion:

As more users access Google via mobile devices, it will continue to play a greater role. As such, it will continuously update its appearance and algorithm to give more efficient results. At the same time, it is important for webmasters to make sure that their sites are mobile-friendly.
