Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Advertising (SEA) as different parts of online marketing

What is Online Marketing

In today's digital age, the many facets of classic marketing has received a new form that any successful company couldn't succeed without taking into account. The online world has its own set of laws and rules that need to accounted for. This has resulted in online marketing.

Basically, online marketing is nothing more than normal marketing that has been adapted to online media.

SEO and SEA as Different Parts of Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

When we think of online marketing as a distribution channel, we come to the question of how one can make their online shop or web presence more easily found by visitors. One of the many ways is to be found via search engines. That requires certain measures to be taken to ensure a better position in the search engine results page (SERP).

Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Search engine marketing (SEM) is one of the most important online marketing instruments when it comes to search engines. SEM refers to any promotional measures taken to get more visitors via online search engines. Furthermore, there is a difference between search engine advertising (SEA) and search engine optimization (SEO). Simply put, there is search results that your pay for (SEA), and search results that you don't pay for (SEO).

Search Engine Advertising (SEA)

Search engine advertising (SEA) is the mix of advertising on the search results page and is identified by Google as such. These days, advertisements are displayed with a small yellow rectangle with the word "Ad" next to the URL address of the advertised website. Such advertisements are displayed either directly in the area above the other search results or to the right of the normal search results. Both variants are possible in Google. Google does like to play with the design from time to time, so it is possible that the design can be unexpectedly changed in the future.
