Google’s Color Changes

It is no secret that Google likes to experiment with the design of its products. If you have been using Google during the past few years, you might have noticed some changes to Google's search results and other products yourself.

Colorful dividing lines for mobile searches

Some more definite changes took place last week when Google started testing with modifying the design of the mobile search engine results page (SERPs). Instead of there being just a gray dividing line in between each search result, there are now variously colored lines in between each result. An example of the new SERP design can be seen at androidpolice.com

In this screenshot, you can clearly see how the results are more clearly divided and separated with colored lines.

New colors for the star ratings in the SERPs

The next change that you might notice in Google is that they are testing with different colors for the star ratings in the SERPs. Instead of golden stars, many users have seen green rating stars in Google.

This is not the first time that Google has experimented with testing its colors. According to seoroundtable.com, it has been possible to see green, red, and grey stars in Google since last August.

We will have to wait and see which of the many colors Google is testing with will be used as the main color for star ratings in the future in its SERPs.
